First visit · underground drainage

Underground piping & surface restoration.

From opening the work area to reinstating paving and the deck, follow the first visit on this drainage project.

  1. Open the work area and excavate the pipe route.
  2. Install underground drain piping, including the section beneath the deck.
  3. Backfill the excavated area with gravel.
  4. Reinstate paving and the deck surface.

Return visit · entrance drain

Entrance drain & concrete landing.

The return visit focused on the drain at the exterior entrance and the concrete around it.

  1. Remove the existing concrete around the drain.
  2. Clear the area and prepare the gravel base.
  3. Position the grate and check its level.
  4. Fit the dimpled membrane around the prepared area.
  5. Place and finish new concrete around the drain.
  6. Temporarily cover the freshly concreted area with boards.

Basement · sump pump installation

Sump pump installation.

A complete photo sequence of the sump basin, pump and discharge piping installation, through to concrete restoration.

  1. Open the tile and concrete floor.
  2. Excavate the pit for the sump basin.
  3. Position the basin and connect the incoming drain pipe.
  4. Check the basin level and backfill around it with gravel.
  5. Install the pump and route the discharge piping up the wall.
  6. Fit the lid and restore the concrete around the basin.

Project sequence 01

Foundation & walkway.

The photographs show membrane detail, a gravel-filled window well, a concrete floor patch and a restored paver walkway.

Project sequence 02

Underground sewer work.

Follow the exposed pipe connections and access risers through to gravel backfill. The final photo shows the gravel stage; it does not show completed asphalt restoration.

Project sequence 03

Underground drain tie-ins & rough-in.

Tie-ins to an existing underground drain system in a house basement, preparing connections for three future plumbing stacks, a toilet, shower, washbasin and washing machine. The photographs show the new connections, gravel backfill, reinforcement and concrete floor restoration.
